Bringing Extra Hops into the State Fair!

Celebrate the summer at the State Fair with refreshing brews at the 12th Annual Friends of the California State Fair Brewfest. This annual event continues to draw a crowd with a trifecta of good hops, good beer and good times.

With over 25 breweries participating, Brewfest showcases award-winning brews from the California State Fair Commercial Brew Competition. Brewfest is scheduled for Saturday, July 31 at 5 p.m. on the Golden1 Stage at the center of the fairgrounds.  Breweries will hand out 5 oz. samples of their award winning beers. That’s 50 oz. of the best California beer, and you get to keep the souvenir mug!  Dancing is encouraged as music will be provided by the rock and roll band Hwy 49.  In addition to the beer tasting, State Fair food vendors are nearby with a variety of exquisite cuisine. This combination of fine brews and food is a perfect way to spend the evening with family and friends.

Special Brewfest Wristbands are $15, and the event is only open to fairgoers that are 21 and older. State Fair admission is still required to enter the event.  There will be in and out privileges with a wristband to enjoy the splendid food vendors within the State Fair. Designated drivers will be allowed to enter for free to prevent drinking and driving, and children are also allowed to attend the event for free with proper adult supervision.  For more information about Brewfest please contact Greg Kinder at (916) 263-3033 or gkinder@calexpo.com.
