Cal Expo Board Provides NBA Update

 SACRAMENTO, CA (October 9, 2009) The Developer Selection Committee of the California Exposition & State Fair (Cal Expo) Board of Directors today provided an update on its progress toward identifying a redevelopment solution for Cal Expo. The update is as follows:

 -          Cal Expo staff is finalizing a draft Request for Qualifications (RFQ) which was authorized for preparation by the Board in March 2009.  The draft will be sent to the California Department of General Services and the NBA for their comments and then will be brought back to the Board for its review.

-          Upon review of the RFQ, the Cal Expo Board will decide whether to proceed with issuing the RFQ to developers, or another course of action. 

-          The existing Letter of Understanding (LOU) is scheduled to expire on Monday, November 30, 2009. The Cal Expo Board would need to make some decision about extending, modifying or allowing the LOU to expire, on or before that date.

-          The next Cal Expo Board Meeting is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2009. The Meeting Notice, Agenda and other relevant materials will be made available for download from the Cal Expo website at www.calexpo.com at least 10 days prior to the meeting date.
