| There’s No Bull About It: State Fair Is In The Bull Pen SACRAMENTO (July 23, 2010)- One of the most exciting events in the Horse Show and Rodeo Arena each year during the State Fair is the very popular Bull Fest which takes place on Cattlemen’s Day, Sunday, July 25. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Horse Show & Rodeo Arena, the event kicks off with Mutton Bustin’ as children try to ride sheep for six seconds by only holding on to the curly wool. The contestants also get the chance to strike it rich by searching and digging for silver dollars hidden in the dirt of the arena. Opening ceremonies will include the salute to the flag where a huge American flag is unfurled in the arena to the Star-Spangled Banner. Throughout the evening, events will include Bull Riding, Canadian Mini Chuckwagons, a performance by traditional charro and rope artist, Tomas Garcilazo, and of course, the exciting event known as Bull Poker where a bull attempts to destroy a poker table that has four cowboys concentrating on a poker game.
