| Sacramento, CA – The California State Fair today announced that MUVZ (Ahlamalik and Ahlijah Williams) won the title of the California State Fair’s “Most Talented Kid” at the 4th annual Kids Talent Showcase. The sibling team, ages 15 and 9, won over the judges with an impressive dance performance to a medley of Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean” and “Smooth Criminal”.
“This year’s contestants really demonstrated the breadth of talent found in today’s youth,” said Erica Manuel, Assistant General Manager at the California State Fair. “We’ve never had such a wide range of unique talents in this competition, and each year the quality of the finalists gets better and better.”
MUVZ bested 13 other contestants from all over Northern California to claim the title. In addition to having the title of “Most Talented Kid”, the team received a prize package that includes a $250 cash prize, the chance to be King for a Day at the State Fair and to Grand Marshal in the Nightly Parade.
Each of the 14 finalists performed for three-minutes, and the acts ranged from singing to playing instruments, to tumbling and performing karate demonstrations. The exhilarating show concluded with a special ballroom dance performance from Aaron Altman and Rashell Khalfin, the winners of the nine and under category from the hit show, “Dancing with the Stars”.
The runners-up included 12-year old Mackensi Emory of Auburn with an Extreme Sport Karate demonstration and 11-year old Grace Stanley from Antelope who sang “The Wizard and I” from the Broadway musical “Wicked”.
Last year’s winner, Jeremiah Pearson, has participated in the Hollywood Launch Program Showcase and performed at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip and at Universal City Walk. He played the role of Little Michael Jackson in the production of Soul Sistah and of young Joe in the stage reading of Lost Lady with a Violin. Jeremiah has also performed at charity events in Los Angeles and in the Bay Area. Most recently, he auditioned for the role of Young Michael Jackson in the Thriller Live National & World Tour.
